A new year is just weeks away, and clearing, cleansing, and cleaning may already be on your agenda.
Can I make an organic antibiotic to help clean up my system?
While you may not be able to “make” a pharmaceutical-grade antibiotic at home, you can turn to potent natural substances such as:
- honey
- lemon
- garlic
- turmeric
- ginger
- cilantro
- oregano oil
- tea tree
- elderberry
- echinacea
- onions, and many more.
These ingredients possess antimicrobial, antiviral, and immune-supporting properties that can help fight cold and flu symptoms, fever, body aches, and overall unwellness. They work by soothing the throat, reducing inflammation, and supporting your body’s natural defenses.
You can use these immune boosters, as I like to call them.

In teas, tonic elixirs, and for infusions add honey, lemon, ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon. With food preparation use garlic, lemon, onions, turmeric, and powdered antioxidant supplements. And in supplemental form use echinacea, turmeric, ginger, garlic, chlorella, and mushrooms. All of these boosters help nurse you back to wellness.
Common preparations include steeping garlic in oil, making ginger–garlic tea with fresh turmeric root, or using honey for wound care. These methods leverage powerful compounds such as allicin from garlic (black garlic is even more potent) and carvacrol found in oregano.
We do not claim that these natural remedies replace conventional medicine or professional medical care for serious illness or infection. Always consult your preferred healthcare practitioner with questions or concerns. That said, knowledge is power. Knowing your body, paying attention to its signals, and doing a little research can go a long way in supporting health.
For general cleansing, detoxing, and health preparation for cooler weather, and to carry forward into the new year, I have a few health remedies I’ve found very beneficial to share.
A natural cold and flu wellness remedy
Boil water, add fresh ginger and turmeric root (peeled), and simmer for 8 minutes on high. Pour into a cup, squeeze in fresh lemon, and enjoy.
A natural “antibiotic” blend
Blend together a garlic clove, apple cider vinegar, and fresh grapefruit. Drink and enjoy.

SIDR Honey: Nature’s Powerful Healer
Honey likely lives in most of our kitchen cupboards, but have you ever wondered about the different types?
What is SIDR honey, and why is it so highly valued?

SIDR honey offers exceptional health-giving benefits and has been used as both food and medicine in many cultures. Honey is defined as a natural sweet substance produced by bees (Apis mellifera) from plant nectar, combined with enzymes and compounds produced by the bee, then stored and matured in honeycombs.
Honey is an incredibly complex food, containing at least 181 different substances, including proteins, enzymes, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and polyphenols. Its health benefits depend heavily on purity and source. Monofloral honey, derived primarily from one plant species, is especially prized for its unique flavor and medicinal properties.
SIDR honey comes from the nectar of the Jujube Christ Tree (Ziziphus spina-christi), also known as the SIDR tree. It is considered a true monofloral honey. These resilient trees bloom only briefly once per year, making SIDR honey rare and highly revered. The trees are drought-resistant, and their flowers produce a fragrant, nutrient-rich honey valued for both taste and therapeutic use.
Key Facts About SIDR Honey
Studies show that honey contains polyphenols, such as caffeic acid and its phenyl esters, which have demonstrated promising pharmacological properties, including antiproliferative activity in cancer research. SIDR honey supports immune health, promotes wound healing, aids digestion, and helps fight infection. Rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, vitamins, and minerals, it functions as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and natural energizer, both internally and externally.
SIDR honey has been studied for antimicrobial and anticancer properties, with care taken to note its role in supporting healthy cell growth.
