Aging – the term “aging” refers to the biological process of growing older in a deleterious sense. Here at HUmineral, we don’t believe in “anti” aging. We believe in “HEALTHY” aging at every stage. We want to age so we can grow, have new experiences, see our children, family and friends, experience their missions.
Aging results from the oxidation of the cells. Oxidation is the loss of electrons during a reaction by a molecule, atom or ion. As cells die and are replaced by new ones, there are only so many times a cell can be replaced before the telomeres that are needed for cellular reproduction are too short to continue that cycle. Therefore, the longer one can have a cell remain viable without needing to be replaced, theoretically, the longer a person will live.
Electron: a stable particle with a charge of negative electricity, found in all atoms and acting as the primary carrier of electricity in solids.
Atom: a fundamental piece of matter… An atom itself is made up of three tiny kinds of particles called subatomic particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Oxidation occurs when the oxidation state of a molecule, atom or ion is increased. The opposite process is called reduction, which occurs when there is a gain of electrons or the oxidation state of an atom, molecule, or ion decreases.
In humans, aging represents the accumulation of changes in the human body over time, encompassing physical, psychological, and social changes. As we age, there are positives and some less positives. We can reduce the latter by choosing HEALTHY as a daily lifestyle. For instance, as we age, our reaction time may slow, while knowledge of world events may increase. Wisdom as we age is a good thing. We can do daily activity to aid our agility and reaction, such as yoga, swimming, walking, reading. Aging is among the greatest known risk factors for most human diseases: of the roughly 150,000 people who die each day across the globe, about two thirds die from age-related causes.
The causes of aging are uncertain; current theories are assigned to the damage concept, whereby the accumulation of damage (such as DNA oxidation) may cause biological systems to fail, or to the programmed aging concept, whereby internal processes (such as DNA methylation) may cause aging.
To produce energy, the body oxidizes (burns) the food we eat. Calories are a measure of how much energy is contained in the food we consume. So, oxidation is necessary to produce energy but it must be controlled. Just as a camp fire needs to be kept within the fire pit of stones so you don’t set the camp on fire, the oxidation within your body needs to be kept in the mitochondria so as not to damage the rest of the cell.
The free radicals that are generated as part of cellular oxidation can damage cell membranes, cellular proteins, lipids and DNA. Anti-oxidants in the diet or ones created by the body are designed to capture and quench the free radicals before they can damage the body. In an absence of anti-oxidants, excessive free radicals can cause certain diseases; heart disease, liver disease and some cancers. Oxidation can be accelerated by toxicity; stress, cigarette smoking, alcohol, sunlight, pollution and multiple other factors.
Antioxidants fight free radicals. Humic Acid MINERAL is a powerful antioxidant, loaded with polyphenols. It is a nutrient antioxidant that nourishes body/cell, that encompasses some 80 major and trace minerals, including copper, zinc and selenium. Other dietary food compounds, such as the phytochemicals in plants and zoo-chemicals from animal products, are believed to have great antioxidant effect.
